August Doldrums

The lack of anything resembling summer weather in this part of Ireland makes it both easy and tempting to slip into the doldrums.  But then I come across this quote from Orhman Pamuk and think there’s nothing for it but to get on with it!!

“The writer who shuts himself up in a room and goes on a journey inside will, over the years, discover literature’s eternal rule; he/she must have the artistry to tell their own stories as if they were other people’s stories, and to tell other people’s stories as their own…”

As if it was just that simple.  As another day clouds over time to tell stories.

Happy writing.
